Synopsis
The project idea for Before//After is based on an incident that took place in Syria a long time ago. The historic Aleppo mosque was destroyed by a rebel-terrorist group. The mosque's huge minaret and the beautiful architecture of the courtyard were destroyed in the wake. The idea of Before//After comes from finding continual beauty even in the transition of the mosque, a once-beautiful religious place, becoming a burnt, demolished place of worship. The Aleppo Mosque stays beautiful, despite the destruction that was caused upon it. And to best portray its visual beauty, I chose to create a 3D environment moving between how it looked before and after the attack took place.
Before // After
Before//After is a real-world-based 3D environment which showcases the beauty of emotions through a visual representation of the ' before' and 'after' of a devastating event that took place in the targeted environment.
Project Motivation
The biggest motivation to create the project came from the hunger to develop new skills and enhance my 3D knowledge in a new field i.e. environments. I have only been practicing creating prop assets but this project gave me a different opportunity.
