The Honours project being developed is a virtual reality training simulator that puts people in an emergency first-aid scenario. There is a large percentage of the general population who don’t have the proper knowledge and awareness of the correct techniques of CPR. This knowledge can help in saving a life, and prove beneficial for not only the public but medical trainees as well. The aim of this project is to find out if the application being built can prove to be an accepted method to train people on the correct CPR methods, instead of the current conventional teaching procedures. This application also aims to help people understand the importance of CPR.
'Integrating the Use of Virtual Reality to Spread Awareness About First Aid and CPR' is a 2023 Digital Graduate Show project by Arjun Bhatnagar, a Computer Game Applications Development student at Abertay University.
The main motivation behind this project was to find out if the use of extended reality technologies can be beneficial to fields other than games and entertainment. Such technologies could help people by training them on how to administer proper CPR to a person in need, potentially saving lives as a result.
