This project is a 3D, third person, role playing adventure game.
Each player can play with up to one other friend over a networked connection and explore a small open world together. On their adventure, players are able to collect gear and interact with characterful personalities. The world is designed to utilise architecture and art framing techniques throughout.
The game has gone through multiple stages of user testing. The results of these tests were then used to inform the iteration of the level design and help build an understanding of how architecture, level design and art framing techniques might influence player behaviour and pathing.
I wanted to create something fun, while also allowing me to research and better understand architectural theory.
“Investigating Architectural Framing Theory and its Effect on Player Pathing” is a 2021 Digital Graduate Show project by Eliot Hynd, a Games Design and Production student at Abertay University.
