Synopsis
In my project, I am creating three 2D character design sheets with three different characters. The designs are meant for a theoretical Cyberpunk game with inspiration from Slavic culture and folklore. The idea is to combine classical aspects of a culture with a modern and futuristic genre. Slavic culture and characters have very little representation in media and when they do, it is usually boiled down into stereotypes. My goal is to create characters with interesting designs and show the potential and beauty of Slavic culture to a broader audience.
Metal Roots

Project Motivation
My main motivation was the lack of Slavic representation in western media. In recent years I began to explore my culture a lot more and use it as inspiration for many of my projects, but I wanted to see how this inspiration would fare in a futuristic setting. Cyberpunk is known for usually drawing inspiration from Japanese culture and folklore and I was curious about how Slavic culture would translate into this genre.
