To coincide with my research into the production and values of remakes I have created my own remade take on a scene from the 1986 animated Transformers Movie.
A primary goal with this project was to take a scene from a 2D animation and remake it into 3D, as a way of highlighting the differences in production and the value that can be found in a remake, whilst still respecting the original creation.
The Transformers Movie from 1986 is one of the first pieces of animation I can remember seeing, back on VHS, that really stuck with me. I thought it would be fun if I could base a project that marked the end of my academic education around what started my love for the digital arts in the first place.
“Transformers 86' - Remade” is a 2020 Digital Graduate Show project by Liam Rendall, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.
