My honours project involves creating an intriguing mythological museum which replicates and expands on the real-life museum experience. To portray this, I will be creating my own 3D museum environment which will be fully explorable in virtual reality. My project follows a video game design pipeline process, meaning the project will begin with researching and 2D concept art which will then be turned into 3D models. These models will follow a stylised art style and will help build the museum. I will be filling the museums with items and artefacts from mythology and displaying them the same way real-life museums would. I'll be researching multiple cultures including my own Scottish culture as inspiration for this project.
"Mythological Virtual Reality Museum" is a 2022 Digital Graduate Show project by Quinn Gascoigne, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.
I've always had a fascination with virtual reality and the technology behind it and would like to progress this interest into a future career path. I also enjoy the challenge behind such a large and new project, tackling problems and challenges which I've never faced before is one of the many joys of this course.
