To what extent can environmental narrative portray a story?

Synopsis

A first-person walking simulator showcasing environmental narrative and storytelling.
Set in Antarctica, the narrative guides the player to explore their surroundings and solve the mystery of the long-lost crew from the research vessel RRS Homelight. Very much like Dundee’s RRS Discovery, RRS Homelight left the safety of the British waters to explore the edges of the world.
Find what’s left of the crew and solve the mystery of their disappearance. This game uses environmental narrative and game design to guide the player throughout the environment and communicate the story visually.

To what extent can environmental narrative portray a story?

A first person walking simulator showcasing environmental narrative and storytelling. The narrative pushes the player to explore their surroundings and solve a mystery…

Motivation

I really wanted to portray a story through the environment and finding inspiration here in Dundee was instrumental in not only aiding me in research but also made the project really personal.
