This project focusses mostly on researching stylised art styles, however it will also be showcasing the differences in workflow between stylised and non-stylised assets. To accompany the research, I’ve developed a small section of a game-ready environment utilising the findings from the research to create an appealing art style for the scene.
The motivation for me behind this project was to understand how games are able to be produced in so many different art styles and yet have an incredibly large target audience that are drawn and not put off by the different styles.
“What creates an appealing art style for games?” is a 2021 Digital Graduate Show project by Ryan Bouhaddou, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.
