Under the Equality Act 2010 and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 the University, in the exercise of its functions, is required to evaluate policies (and other documents) by performing an Equality Impact Assessment for each one.
A Comprehensive EIA is carried out for all new policies and also when reviewing existing policies if a Quick Impact Assessment shows that any protected characteristic may be affected. No policy progresses to consideration by a University Committee if an EIA has not been conducted.
Current completed EIAs can be viewed below, alongside the University’s guidance document.
