Abertay has a long established record as a leader for the UK cyber industry and holds the National Cyber Security Centre's gold-level Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education recognition.

Dr Natalie Coull, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity said:

"The growing cybersecurity threat that the UK is facing requires a robust national response and coordinated action across the sector, from the point of teaching our children about safe and secure practices, through to carrying out leading edge research in our universities and equipping companies to futureproof their systems. Through the work of our cyberQuarter and the wide range of research projects being led by our academic team, Abertay is ideally positioned to drive the innovation and growth that the cybersecurity industry needs to combat this threat, while also supplying a highly-skilled pipeline of graduate talent into the sector. Abertay's unique strength is having a true community of educators, researchers, students, industry professionals and supporting organisations, which sets the ideal conditions for the creative thinking and innovative ideas needed to drive progress. My congratulations go to everyone who has played their part in this shared success."
