How to accept your Abertay offer

Congratulations on your offer to study at Abertay University!

Now that you've been offered a place, you may be wondering how to accept it through UCAS. Here's how to reply to your offer to study at Abertay.

Replying to your offer

When your last decision comes in, UCAS will send an email to say you're ready to make your replies:

  1. Sign in to UCAS Hub to make your replies.

  2. You'll see the deadline you need to reply by.

Types of reply

There are three types of replies you can make:

  1. Firm acceptance: this is your first choice - the place you most want to go. If you accept a conditional offer and meet the conditions, you'll have a confirmed place here.

  2. Insurance: this is your back-up choice if you don't meet the conditions of your firm choice. If this is a conditional offer, you'd need to meet the conditions for your place to be confirmed.

  3. Decline: you do not want to accept this offer

What happens next?

  • Accepted a conditional offer? Next step is waiting for Abertay to update your application based on your results. If your results haven't been updated, send evidence of results to our Admissions Team by emailing admissions@abertay.ac.uk.

  • Once you firmly accept our offer, we'll email you about start dates, accommodation, registration and other important info nearer to the course start date.

  • If you're considering staying in student accommodation, we recommend applying for it as soon as you can after accepting your firm offer.

  • You'll also receive an Abertay IT account email. Please set up your account as soon as you can, as you’ll need this to apply for accommodation and register for University. Keep hold of the login details, as they are important. You'll use this account often.
