This scholarship will NOT re running for session 24/25. Two years of funding (£1,700 per year, paid in instalments) for Year 2 and Year 3 Civil and Environmental Engineering students.

Overview

This scholarship will NOT be running for session 24/25.

The Bill Taylor Scholarship is open to students in Year 2 and Year 3 of the MEng/BEng (Hons) Civil and Environmental Engineering.

This scholarship is aimed at a well-rounded individual who's interested in working in the civil engineering sector.

If your application is successful, you will:

The summer placement will last a minimum of eight weeks and will be paid. Students must be flexible in travelling anywhere in Scotland to take up their summer placement.

Students who withdraw, fail to achieve the required results to progress on the course or do not complete the allocated 12-week industry placement in Year 3 and summer work placement will cease to receive further money from the Scholarship Fund.

Eligibility 

To be considered for this scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:

BEAR Scotland graduate training programme

The successful student will also be offered a full-time role on the BEAR Scotland graduate training programme, gaining experience in a number of different departments within the company over a 3 to 4-year training programme. Further details including salary will be discussed during the interview process.

Please note: You do not need to take up the graduate training programme if you do not wish to after you have completed your degree.

BEAR Scotland is offering this scholarship to Abertay University students in memory of Chairman Bill Taylor who passed away in 2016. Bill was also a Dundee Institute of Technology graduate in civil engineering before Abertay became a University.
