Abertay University is proud to partner with the High School of Dundee and organisations from across the local area on the Social Inequalities Conference.
Tackling poverty and inequality through widening access to higher education, creating opportunities for engagement and mentorship, and supporting economic growth are strategic priorities for Abertay and our network of students, staff and alumni.
There's a wide variety of ways we go about this, from implementing different access requirements for students who have experienced disadvantage, offering extra financial support, giving staff time off to engage with their local communities, and conducting research into the impacts that poverty and inequality have on society in Scotland.
With around 50% of our students coming from Tayside and Fife, the work we do at Abertay has a direct effect on the people who live in the area and we will keep working to make a positive difference for those who need it, including our area's young people.
