Personal and academic help

Everyone needs a bit of help once in a while, be that practical, academic or personal.

Personal Support

Personal Support - Support Enquiry Zone

Once you're an Abertay student, if you struggle with any element of university life, whatever it may be, visit SEZ, our Support Enquiry Zone.

Whether you need help with academic work or dealing with a personal problem, budgeting or mental health issues, taking advantage of our free student support service is the smart thing to do.

Get the answers to your queries

SEZ are based in the library and are open every day, including weekends. They can answer most queries immediately, or put you in touch with a subject specialist if needed.

Going to university may be the first time you've lived away from home. Even if you are local, finding it difficult to settle in is totally normal. It's good to know that our counselling and mental health services are free to all students.

Check out Student Support and Services to see the full list of support options. Whatever kind of advice you need, visit SEZ in the Library or email the Support Enquiry Zone. They will arrange to speak to you confidentially.

Academic support

There’s plenty of support to help you get a handle on the academic side of university life. This ranges from advice on how to use your reading list, to our coursework feedback service and more.

There's a study skills section on the intranet, and you can also talk to your School Academic Advisor or Student Success Officer. Plus we offer MySuccess modules in years 1 and 2, designed to develop the academic skills you need to succeed at University and beyond.

Pop into the library or email the Support Enquiry Zone (SEZ) to find out about what's available and how to access it. SEZ will help point you in the right direction.
